Posted April 27, 2012 Dreamworks Dance Ensemble Auditions Dance Dreamworks will be holding auditions for our brand new dance company out of Open Space Studio in Plymouth on June 30, 2012 from 11:30 - 3 PM. Kids ages 9-17 can register to join the company. Summer classes will be six weeks once per week, and in the Fall, classes will be twice per week. Minimum of one year dance experience is required, but participants must demonstrate a willingness to learn and be a part of the team to be considered for summer classes. Auditions will be held again in August for those who did not qualify June 30th but were accepted into the summer program. We encourage all kids looking for a dance challenge, a summer of meeting new friends, and the opportunity to perform and give back to the community through dance to audition for our company. Foundation
Dance Dreamworks Inc. began in early 2011 at Open Space Studio in downtown Plymouth, Massachusetts. The program is a unique dance experience, offering classes, workshops, private instruction, special events, and more in multiple styles of dance at Open Space, Studio Four in Pocasset, and other venues. The artistic directors for Dance Dreamworks, Inc. are Amanda Singer and Emily Harrington. Emily and Amanda are lifelong dancers who began spreading their love of dance to non-profit organizations, high school dance teams, elementary school programs, and summer camps in their high school years. Throughout college, they both extended their dance training to the caliber to which they can professionally spread their passion to local studios across the South Shore. They have competed in the pro-am division at the Spirit of Dance Awards and placed Gold, giving them a chance to win High Silver at the national level in July of 2011. Instruction with Dance Dreamworks ranges from non-competitive and beginner, to more progressive and advanced. Every part of instruction includes important fundamentals of each dance discipline, as well as elements of fitness including flexibility and strength. The dancer will learn how to become expressive through movement, using all parts of the body in space. Dreamworks has evolved from just one location and audience, to a traveling duo of dance instruction for all ages and skill levels, open to anyone with a desire to learn.
